Default What skills are needed to become a Nursery Manager?

A nursery manager needs to have good spoken and written communication skills. They should be well organised with great time management skills. They have to be good leaders who can motivate, support and encourage colleagues. They should work well under pressure to meet targets and deadlines. A sound understanding on child protection issues and confidentiality are essential. They should deal with young children and their families in a sensitive, non judgemental way. Good business sense and budget management skills are essential. Person skills are required to build and keep working relationship with your staffs, schools and other relevant agencies. They should keep a good understanding on the various ways children learn and develop. Nursery Managers have to remain updated with developments in early years care and education. They should provide equal opportunities to all kids. Sound background on Children’s Act, Health and Safety issues and Ofsted National Standards for day-care providers is essential.
