An osteopath should be a good communicator and listener to collect details from the clients. Patience and tact are needed skills for osteopaths to deal with difficult people. They must have a genuine interest to help others. Ability to build up trust and rapport with clients is essential. Good observation, coordination and practical skills are essential. Physical fitness and stamina are also required. Non judgemental approach, problem solving and decision making skills are necessary. Knowledge in human biology and chemistry is essential. They should be sensitive towards the needs of the patients and refer them to medical doctors if necessary. Business mind, marketing and social skills are needed for running own business.
