Default What do Parking Attendants do?

Parking attendants now do the job of ensuring parking restrictions, which used to be the job of traffic wardens till sometime back. The duties of a parking attendant will include patrolling the parking areas to make sure parking regulations are followed and violators are given a penalty. They also keep the car parking areas clean and report possibly abandoned vehicles. They interact with motorists and tell them about the parking restrictions and facilities available. They check parking tickets and take payments at car parks. They also check the parking space and make sure the parking signs and lines are not erased.

They may use digital cameras to record evidence of parking rules violations and keep in contact with supervisors through radio or mobile phones. They issue parking tickets or penalty tickets using hand-held computers-printers. Their job is mainly assisting police and reporting incidences of violations.
