Default What skills are needed to become a Patent Attorney?

As a patent attorney, you need to have a good understanding of UK and international intellectual property laws. You also need to have the skills to report and explain complex legal and technical information. Good levels of analytical skills, ability to work under stressful conditions and attention to detail are all essential qualities. You will also need good communication skills – both written and spoken communication. You need good levels of strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to understand technical and scientific details. You must also respect the confidentiality of information you handle.
