Default What does a Patient Advice and Liaison service Officers do?

The Patient Advice and Liaison Service Officer’s main responsibility is to support the distressed patients and advice the relatives and public about NHS services. PALS is an independent service provided for patients, relatives, carers, and public and hospital staff. There are many responsibilities for a Patient Advice Service Officers to do. They include giving information about NHS compliant procedures and other important matters, advising which would help to resolve concerns about the services, find solutions for the problems by discussing it with hospital staffs, managers and the support groups, give essential details to the patients and public on getting NHS services and how to get independent help with a complaint, listen carefully the patients complaints and suggestions and try to solve it.

A Patient Advice and Liaison Officer must also be able to manage daily work of PALS.
