Default Qualification required to becoming Patient Advice and Liaison Service Officer

Along with experience in customer care or any other service user focused role you need a degree, BTEC or HND to become a Patient Advice and Liaison Service Officer. Some NHS trusts ask for GCSE’s (A-C) in English and Math to appoint you as a PALS officer. If you have experience working with children health service or mental health service then you can walk into this profession easily.

There are some training programs which will help you to develop good knowledge about NHS trusts, specific complaint procedures, data protection and many other issues. To become a Patient Advice and Liaison Service Officer nursing background helps a lot.

The best way to enter this profession is volunteering within your NHS trust. There are also chances of becoming PALS officer by starting your career as PALS secretary or administrator.
