Default Qualification required to becoming Payroll Administrator

One of the most required qualifications to become a Payroll Administrator is to good knowledge of Math. As this job is in the finance department, you must know accountancy well. Some of the companies prefer people with qualification in book-keeping and basic accounting. There are even companies who look for Payroll Administrators with some GCSE’s (A-C) including Math.

Along with these basic qualifications if you have some experience in book-keeping, accounts or any other office type job then it will be very helpful. You can enter into this profession through apprenticeship scheme. Computer knowledge especially in spreadsheets and databases is an added advantage.

There are some training programs which will help to improve your career as a Payroll Administrator. If you have some years of experience then you can do some courses from Institute of Payroll Professionals. You can find some short term courses that develop your skill and improve your career.
