Default What do Police Officers do?

Police officers prevent and detect acts of crime, maintain public order and apprehend criminals. They have the authority to arrest criminals, detain them and produce them before the Court of law. Police Officers can also be trained for specific functions like countering terror attempts, surveillance, etc. They work closely with several other departments to prevent illegal immigration, people trafficking, smuggling, etc. They are also responsible for ensuring security for persons and property.

Police officers have to perform variety of tasks. Their primary goal is to ensure protection to life and property. They coordinate activities with fire fighters, rescue operators, volunteers, etc during times of emergency. Police officers are also responsible for helping out persons in emergencies (like medical emergency). They have a broad range of tasks to complete. Without their services, normal life in the society would be extremely difficult, as it can lead to anti social elements raise their fangs.
