Default What does an IT Project Manager do?

An IT project manager oversees the development of computer networks or management systems according to client requirements. As an IT project manager, you are responsible for development of computer based systems according to guidelines, and according to timelines and budgetary constraints. In most cases, you will work for an IT company. You can also find opportunities in any company that has big IT infrastructure.

You will develop specific tools and systems – like billing systems for a telephone service provider, a logistics management system for a shipping company or banking solutions for a financial institution. Sometimes your duties can include adding fresh functionalities to existing IT systems, without affecting current functioning. You will also keep track of the progress of the project and keep your managers/clients updated.
