Default What skills are needed to become a Psychotherapist (100 words)

A pshycotherapist should be a sincere person with empathy towards the clients. Sensitivity towards others feelings and a non judgemental approach is needed. A good communicator as well as listener with good questioning skills can perform well as a psychotherapist. A genuine interest in others problems and relationship issues will be helpful. Good observation skills together with ability to build up trust and good interpersonal relationships with a large sum of people are essential for a good psychotherapist. Confidence and skills are needed to face the distressing experiences of the clients. A psychotherapist should be an energetic and committed person with a positive outlook towards life. Most importantly a therapist should be able to separate his/ her own feelings from their clients.
