Default What does a Purchasing Manager do?

A purchase manger will find high quality, best value commodities for his employer. He/she will research over market conditions and keep track the finest dealer. Purchase Manager will negotiate contracts and formulates policies on behalf of the company. He/she scrutinizes the stock levels and make sure, goods are delivered at time. He/she has to keep stock registers, review tenders and prepare budgets. He/she will be in charge of the purchase department and make payments and invoices .He/she will recruit new staffs and train them. He/she will deal with the complaints of sales persons and service providers. He/she will evaluate the conditions and prepare bids. He/she manages and brings together the buyers, sellers and distributors of company products. He/she will generate reports on market trends and cost factors. In smaller organisations along with purchase responsibilities he/she have to handle management duties too.
