Default Qualifications Required to Becoming a Quality Control Technician

GCSEs or A level Certification in Industrial Engineering or Quality Control Technology applicable to your industry, like engineering or food science is an essential qualification for quality control technicians. Most of the employers will ask for a minimum of two year experience.
Relevant professional qualification in quality management like Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) Level 3 Certificate in Quality, CQI Level 5 Diploma in Quality or Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 4 Diploma in Quality Management are sure footsteps to this profession. Freshers can make their entry as Apprentices and work their way up to quality control Technician.
Basic Knowledge of quality standards and working methods are valuable when looking for jobs in quality control. Apprentices can undergo further training through courses like NVQ Performing Engineering Operations levels 1 and 2, NVQ Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (Industrial) levels 1 to 4, NVQ Food Manufacture levels 1 to 3 or Diploma in Engineering Inspection and Quality Control.
