Default What skills are needed to become a Quantity Surveyor?

A sound understanding on construction methods and materials are essential for Quantity surveyors. Organisational skills are important. Logical and methodological approach towards work is needed. Along with that budget management skills are also necessary. Computer literacy and IT skills are required. Good mathematical knowledge is essential for budget Management. Quantity Surveyor should posses a strong background in building regulations and other related legal policies. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are needed. Quantity Surveyor should be good team worker with ability to motivate and inspire the colleagues.
