Default What does a Rail Engineering Technician do?

A rail engineer technician build and service engines, carriages and other electrical equipments found in train. They are engaged in the settings of control panels, upholstery, lighting arrangements and communication systems. They will inspect over the wear and tear damages of body work, roofs, undercarriages and repair or replace as the situation demands. They will inspect as well as maintains brakes and couplings on a regular basis. New parts will be made, when it is necessary. They are also involved in the development, testing and reassembling of mechanical, electrical as well as pneumatic systems. They will prepare, update and maintains reports. Rail engineering technician works with carpenters, painters, upholsterers and with sheet metal workers. Technicians will be working with a range of tools including welding equipments following strict technical specifications.
