Default Qualifications required to becoming a Rail Engineering Technician

A Rail engineering technician should be a medically fit individual with proper hearing and vision. You will also be asked to clear aptitude tests. I addition to these working experiences is also essential. Mechanical fitter, electrician, crafts person, coach builder or motor vehicle technicians with adequate experiences can make an effort as rail engineering technicians.

Rail Transport Apprenticeship can also help. Four GCSEs including English, science or maths is needed to be qualified for Apprenticeships offered by Train operating companies or Rail engineering firms. Apprentices will be trained under experienced filters or technicians. Once you start working in rail engineering companies, you will be asked to join personal track safety (PTS) course and on the successful completion you will be provided with safety card. Level 1 or 3 of NVQ in Railway Engineering is also advisable once you join.
