Default What skills are needed to become a Receptionist

A receptionist should be a confident person with a pleasing personality, who can stay relaxed under stress and work pressure.

Excellent listening and communication skills, combined with ability to be courteous and firm among difficult persons is essential. Understanding about basic office administration and knowledge on llegislation, policies and Procedures is important.

Computer literacy and working knowledge of office software is essential .Team working, quick decision and analytical problem solving ability are required. In addition to this a receptionist should be respectful, flexible, honest and trustworthy.

Thorough understanding on the culture and political environment of the area of occupation will aid to better performance. He/she must also act as office assistant as situation demands.
