Default What does a Reprographic Assistant do?

Reprographic assistant or print room operators work in printing press, reprographics departments and specialist companies. He/she compose and bind bulk copies of documents by photocopying or offsite litho printing techniques. Reprographic assistant deals with manuals, posters, images, texts, brochures, leaflets and typed documents. Print room operators discuss with customers regarding job requirements and file the business details, after that he/she will calculate the time scale and cost for the number of copies. Print room operators set up the printers, mount the plates or cylinders, line them up correctly, and ensure the ink level, chemicals as well as toners. In addition they will decide over designs and layout for print runs along with color schemes. He/she will monitor the copy runs and quality checks the samples. Reprographic assistant will have to do trimming, binding and laminating too as situation demands. He / she will have to maintain and clean the equipments in addition to keep tracking shortages and ordering the supplies.
