What qualifications are needed to becoming a Security Service Person?
More than academic qualifications, you need to meet certain personal standards and qualifications, which will help you better manage the security situation of the country. You must be at least 18 years old and should meet nationality requirements.
Some posts require additional qualifications – surveillance officers need driving license, while intelligence officers need to have a graduate degree. Relevant work experience can also add. For linguists, you need to be able to understand one or more of the preferred languages as suggested by the Security Service. IT specialists need to have relevant IT qualifications and experience. There are also openings available for administrative officers and clerks, for which you should have relevant work experience.
Throughout your career, you will be encouraged to take up various internal and external training courses relevant to your responsibilities. Almost all the posts will have an initial training period, during which you will gain exposure to the tools and techniques used by the Security Service Personnel.
