Default What Skills are needed for a Solicitor?

You need to have a good understanding of legal provisions. You also have high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to analyze and explain legal matters clearly to non-experts of law is essential. You need to have good communication skills and report writing skills. Ability to work under high stress is essential. Respect for confidential information, good spoken communication skills, tactfulness and empathy are all desired qualities. You will also need to have good levels of basic mathematical skills. You will also benefit from good organisational skills and ability to prioritise works.
