Default What does a Sports Development Officer do?

Responsibilities of a spots development officer include organizing and conducting programs to make sports, games and other physical activities accessible to people in every age groups. He /she will inform and encourage people for a healthier life style. SDO will put forward projects and research about available funds. He/ she will prepare budgets and ensure resources are being used properly by evaluating the running projects. SDO will organize as well as attend meetings, conferences and seminars. He/she will also take necessary steps to make sports accessible to physically disabled people. He/she will take part in developing national policies. SDO will arrange training programs for coaches and support staffs working in different projects. He/ she will be qualified in a particular sport and need to provide coaching and supervision on the same. Sports development officer can also work for a local organization or promote sports by associating with County sports Partnership.
