Supervisors work in a large number of industries like factories, coffee shops, call centres or co-operate sectors. Basic responsibilities of supervisors include managing and organising the workload of his team mates. He/she will plan the work schedule for a time period and delegate his colleagues. He/ she will constantly observe the progress towards meeting the targets. He/ she will listen to the grievances of his team members and do needful. He/ she will train the subordinates. He/ she have to be watchful in handling problems and solving it. Supervisor has to take care of the appraisals and complete paper works. He has to avoid favouritism and his decisions should be with equality. He/ she should ensure safety and healthy working conditions. In certain industries a supervisor will do the same job as his team mates, while in some other situations he/ she will guide his team.
