Default What skills are needed to become an IT Support Technician?

You need a good understanding of computers, operating systems, networking and software & hardware of all kinds that your company uses. You will also need an exceptional knowledge of security tools and procedures. An IT support technician can benefit from excellent problem solving skills and ability to explain technical details in a non-technical fashion to the other executives.

You also need a methodical approach to problem solving. You also will be exposed to pressurizing situations. Ability to work alone or as part of a team also is important.
