Good hearing ability and sweet telephonic voice are prime requirements for telephone operators. They should be confident individuals with an awareness of telephonic manners. Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure is essential. Basic computer knowledge and good command over English language is helpful. They should show excellent customer care skills in handling difficult calls politely and professionally. Telephonist-Switchboard Operator should be honest and should be aware of confidentiality issues. Knowledge on health and safety issues and practises are also required.
