Default What Does a Town Planning Support Staff Do?

A Town Planning Support Staff member works at a town planning board office and assist planning officers to sort applications by individuals and organisations. The job can have multiple responsibilities – like offering technical advice to the public and managing office duties. You will prepare reports for both internal and external communications. You will keep records of planning decisions and decisions taken at board meetings. You will handle the applications and keep record of the status of applications. You also work with enforcement to ensure buildings meet the planning standards and comply with the permissions. They gather evidence in case of disputes and present the reports to Court of law.

As a Town Planning Support Staff, you will also work with computers (CAD), carry out data surveys and make available relevant information to planners. You will manage good filing systems and databases.
