Qualifications required to become a Trade Mark Attorney
You need to join the Register of Trade Mark Agents before you can start practicing as a Trade Mark Attorney. You need to pass a series of tests and exams to be qualified. You need at least five GCSEs and two 'A' levels or equivalent qualifications. You can first start as a trainee under a recognised employer. If you have experience working under a trade mark attorney, you can opt for Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, even if you don't have the academic qualifications listed.
It is always advantageous to have a degree in law, as the employers will prefer qualifications in law while appointing trainees. You can also opt for further qualifications and training while on the job.
