Default What skills are needed to become a Welfare Rights Officer?

You need a good understanding of general laws and welfare rules in special. You need to have a genuine interest to helping people. You should also be able to put people at ease and to build trust. You need good communication skills – spoken and written, good listening skills and a non-judgemental attitude. You will be dealing with people from variety of backgrounds and should be able to deal with them all. You need skills to organise your workload, prioritise tasks and ability to lead a team.
